Amy L Jenkins is a writer and speaker from Wisconsin. She worked for years as a Registered nurse and wrote part-time. Several years ago she put her nursing career on hold, earned her MFA in Literature and Creative Writing from Bennington College and began to call writing her primary career. She most often writes nonfiction and and is held captive by literature of place.
Her series of braided essays about walking natural landscapes with her son have recently placed in several national writing contests and are published or forthcoming in The Flint Hills Review, Literal Latte, The Florida Review, and Rosebud. Amy also writes a quarterly review of books and film for the Wisconsin and other Midwest Sierra Club publications.
Amy has completed a book of essays , she's also working on another creative nonfiction book related to a family of conservationists.
